  9.      The PTA programs BUDDY and SLIP are not free or public domain software.
  10. They are copyrighted, user-supported programs developed and supported by Gordon
  11. Everstine of Gaithersburg, Maryland.  A considerable amount of work went into
  12. the development of these programs.  They are distributed as shareware, which
  13. means if you've downloaded them from a bulletin board or obtained them from a
  14. friend, you can try them out without charge for a reasonable period before you
  15. decide whether they are worth the $25.00 registration fee.  Once you have
  16. evaluated the programs, ethical use requires registering them.  If you end up
  17. not using these programs for some reason, please let me know why, and I'll see
  18. if I can do something about it in the next release.

  20.      Registered copies of the PTA program package are licensed for use on a
  21. single computer.

  23.      You are welcome to share unmodified copies of these PTA programs with
  24. others for their evaluation and use subject to the terms of this agreement.
  25. Copies made for others must include all files originally distributed with the
  26. package.
  27.  
  28.      Technical support for BUDDY and SLIP is available to registered users.  If
  29. you are not a registered user, I will provide you with assistance to install
  30. and evaluate a shareware copy of the programs, but I cannot provide continuing
  31. support beyond that until you purchase the programs.  Registered users may also
  32. request program changes, which I will try to accommodate.  Contact me for more
  33. information on such changes.
